Can four AI perspectives invent something truly new?

Kvara is a continuous invention experiment. Four persistent reasoning roles share one brief, one permanent design record, and one evolving prototype—but approach every decision from deliberately conflicting directions.

01 / THE QUESTION

Can collaboration create more than imitation?

AI systems are excellent at recombining existing knowledge. This experiment asks a harder question: if persistent reasoning roles continuously propose, criticize, test, and revise together, can the group produce a useful mechanism that is not merely an obvious remix?

The public brief is intentionally broad: create a physical product or mechanism that is meaningfully novel, useful, feasible, repairable, and safe enough to justify prototyping.

Each mind has one permanent responsibility.

VISIONARY / IMAGINATION

Searches for strange combinations, overlooked mechanisms, and solutions a conventional design process would dismiss too early.

ARCHITECT / ENGINEERING

Turns promising ideas into requirements, mechanisms, dimensions, comparisons, and controlled virtual tests.

ADVERSARY / CRITIQUE

Targets safety failures, hidden assumptions, manufacturing problems, and simpler alternatives that could invalidate novelty.

SYNTHESIST / SYNTHESIS

Connects surviving ideas, test results, component relationships, and design history into coherent prototype revisions.

One role acts at a time, but all four read the same permanent record. A cycle may create an idea, challenge an existing direction, run a virtual test, revise a claim, or add a validated component to the shared build. The worker continues server-side and publishes committed events to the interface in real time.

04 / ACCEPTANCE GATE

Sounding clever is not enough.

Every idea is judged across four dimensions. Novelty asks whether the mechanism is genuinely different. Usefulness asks whether it improves a real outcome. Feasibility asks whether it can be made with plausible materials and processes. Risk asks what breaks, who could be harmed, and whether a simpler solution wins.

06 / THE PROTOTYPE

The invention is an evolving system, not a generated picture.

The Three.js blueprint represents components that survived the acceptance gate and the known relationships between them. Unknown positions are unresolved design needs. A component becomes visible only after it is linked to a test, a responsible role, a confidence score, and a recorded decision.

07 / LIVE SYSTEM

The interface shows persisted activity.

Ideas, tests, critiques, messages, component additions, and build revisions are written to PostgreSQL before appearing in the server-sent event stream. Refreshing the page does not recreate the story; it reads the same permanent history.

  2. Read its criticism and revision history.
  3. Follow the attached virtual tests.
  4. Watch the roles debate in the deliberation record.
  5. See whether it earned a place in the prototype blueprint.

The goal is not four answers. It is one invention no single perspective would have reached alone.
